  3. I just love this recipe and make it every couple of weeks during the fall/winter. I like the recipe as written, but I often sub 1/2 c. brown sugar for the sugar. Thank you for this great recipe!

  5. Love this bread. It was so easy to make and I made it using my bread machine. Came out moist. My family loved it the only thing I added was a little bit of brown sugar because My apple sause was unsweetened.

Tweaks

  1. This bread is delicious! I doubled the recipe, left out the nuts and raisins and added double craisins instead. I also added one tsp orange extract per batch and would have added some orange zest, but didn't have any. I gave one loaf to a friend who said YUM! I will be making this again. Thanks for the recipe. For the person who used less egg and had a soggy loaf, part of that could have been because you didn't use the correct amount of egg. Egg is a binder and it needs to be added as stated.
