The perfect accompaniment to Applebee's Walnut Blondies. It would also be fabulous over vanilla ice cream. Posted from an online copycat source in response to a recipe request.

I liked this sauce, but at Applebee's it's a creamy sauce. I saw on online where someone added 1 8oz pkg of cream cream to the sauce after it came off the heat and 1/4 tsp maple extract. I may try that next time.

An indulgent sauce, served atop a scoop of vanilla ice cream over your Applebee's Walnut Blondies (recipe #90346). I must add I have never had this dish at Applebee's, so I cannot vouch for authenticity, but I can vouch for deliciousness! :) If it is a little thin for your taste, you just need to let it cool a bit and it will thicken up. Thanks for the recipe! — Jul 2, 2005. Edited 8/13/05: if this review does not make sense, the recipe referenced earlier (for the poster's Applebee's Walnut Blondies) was merged with a duplicate recipe after I submitted this review. So if you search for the recipe indicated, you will be directed to the new recipe which also includes directions for this sauce.

Wow, this is nothing at all like Applebees Maple Butter Sauce, not in looks or in flavor, it tastes like nothing more than maple syrup. I'd have to say the copycat source has never had the real thing. But thanks for trying to answer a request and meanwhile, I will be in search of the real thing.
