This was FANTASTIC!! And so easy! I made as directed with only a few changes. I added more cinnamon (love it!), used Truvia instead of sugar, and used about half the almond extract (that's all I had) and EVERYONE loved!! It has been requested for Christmas dessert already...and it's only September! Made it with some delicious granny smith apples from our CSA. Thanks again!
I made this and took it to work. It was a huge hit and everyone asked for either more--or the recipe. I made it with 1/2 t almond flavoring since I am allergic to almonds. I also didn't use the yogurt--which would've probably put it over the top! Very easy to make. I probably won't peel the apples next time.
I made this the past weekend and it was easy and delicious. This is a Cooking Light recipe (so now the recipe source mystery is solved:)). We skipped the ice cream and had double portions with mimosas for breakfast! Thank you
Pardon the corny-ness, but that was Yumazing! It was my first time using phyllo dough and it came out great, and smelled wonderful. Like an apple pie without the guilt. Reminds me of those toaster strudels I used to eat all the time! Thanks
Dancer^, I have been looking for a recipe like this for a long time. I admit I cheated and made it with unsalted butter instead of pam... and I used the real amaretto instead of the flavoring. It was awesome! We had it for dessert with ice cream, and then had the leftovers for breakfast with coffee. However you decide to make this, you won't be disappointed. This is a wonderful apple strudel... and the amaretto gives it just the right flavor. Thanks!
