- Crust: Add sugar to butter, beating together until light and fluffy.
- Blend in vanilla.
- Add flour and mix well.
- Spread on bottom and sides of a 9" springform pan.
- Filling: Combine softened cream cheese and sugar, mixing until well blended.
- Blend in egg and vanilla.
- Pour into pastry-lined pan.
- Topping: Toss apples with sugar and cinnamon.
- Spread apples over cream cheese layer.
- Sprinkle with sliced nuts.
- Bake at 450 degrees for 10 min.
- Reduce heat to 400 degrees and bake an additional 25 minutes.
- Cool in the pan before removing rim.
