I just made this last night for our Octoberfest & my oh my, it was good. A couple of people stated they ordinary did not like strudel but everybody loved this. "Not too sweet". Instead of just melted butter, I add a bit of olive oil. Put down 2 sheets of phyllo at a time, butter, for a total of 6 for each strudel. Had extra phyllo left over. This made 3 strudels for me. The toasted bread crumbs & nuts added the extra crunch. Folks were clamoring for leftovers to take home. I added a picture of the strudels.

Thanks for the memories! - A really great, easy recipe that is useful for so many ways, all the way from lunches, etc. to major dinner parties! How many of us get all hung up on making intricate desserts for those dinner parties, when something as simple as a strudel scores major points!!!
I used to make strudels just the same as these! A couple of decades ago now, but they were wonderful.
One point you may be interested in - I used to make small individual strudels for the children to take to school in their lunchboxes, plus DH and I in ours. An afternoon on the weekend, having fun with the children in the kitchen, they learned to cook and how to make appetising lunchboxes for themselves. They are all off my hands now, but they all make their own lunches (and their children's) and are all good cooks.

Thanks for a truly great recipe - healthy and yummy!
