We loved this so much I have made 4 of them in the last couple of months! Change up the fruit with raspberries, blueberries, strawberries etc. for a change of pace. Delicious!
What a scrumptious apple coffee cake! I loved the topping! I used 5 apples; I chopped about 3 of them and folded them them into the batter. The rest I added to the top of batter, as directed. So awesome. I made it yesterday and it is all gone today. Thanks, Bev, for a fantastic recipe.
Very good coffee cake. I added a finely chopped apple to the batter as well - very moist.
I too added extra apple to the batter and an extra 1/2 tsp of baking powder. This came out just as it shows in the picture and tasted great. Perfect with the morning coffee.
Delicious! After reading the other reviews, I used extra apple and mixed some in the batter. I also used brown sugar, just because I like it better with apple. Very, very yummy. Thanks for posting.
This was a great coffee cake. It was very dense and most of the flavor was on the top part of it. Like Debber said, next time I'd mix in some chopped apples into the batter for more apple flavor. Thanks for the recipe!
Made this for breakfast this morning, and heard rave reviews from the three kids, DH will have it in his lunch tomorrow, and I loved it too! I followed everything as written, except didn't let it cool down all the way before drizzling the glaze, so it kind of did its own thing and dripped off the pan edge a bit. We plowed through it anyway! The only change I would make, might be to add some coarsely chopped apples to the batter, plus the one on top, to give it a bit more "apple" flavor--plus I love biting into them! Otherwise PERFECT as is! I was told, "Mom, this is a KEEPER," so into the cookbook it goes!
