I made this recipe exactly the way it laid out and the crust was dry and did not have very much flavor. The filling however was very good. I would not make this crust again.
Great recipe!! Prepare it like a pie, looks like a cake... but tastes like neither. I followed the recipe as is! Easy to follow. Some ate it wilth ice-cream, some with custard, and others plain. I'm sure with a little imagination you could use other 'fillings' and it would taste just as good. Thank you for sharing the recipe majakete :)
Even the males in the family agree: it's "apple-ly sweet". The "Babcia" reference lured me in and I don't reget it. I added a little lemon to keep the apples from browning, some pecans and raisins, but the recipe is easier than it reads. Dough rolls out well.
