DH loved it! I had to change it slightly cus of what I had in. Only had 4 apples so I added some frozen blueberries to make up and instead of sugar i used splenda, just a little less than half a cup, we like things a little tart. Also had some shortening I had to use up, it worked just fine. Thanks for a very good Sunday dessert, will probably make it again.

This was quick and easy, made it in a Corningware casserole dish (without the cover). Though the casserole was full to the top, it did not run over. I used Splenda in place of sugar and it was fine. Served it warm with ice cream (leftovers for breakfast tomorrow). Ended up sprinkling cinnamon on the dessert. Next time will add spice to the dry ingredients or sprinkle over apples before topping with the dry ingredients. Will make this again.

This was a simple dessert to prepare. I opted to use pears, which was great. I didn't add any spices, but may try a bit of cinnamon mixed in the the dry ingredients. Thanks for posting Kathy-Lynn

Wow! This was the BEST to our family! I did not make any changes. The water really kept the apples from drying out and upon setting for a short while, my filling was the perfect thickness. I grew up eating apple crisp without cinnamon so I prefer it this way. We used apples that we had just picked from the orchard. Thanks Kathy-Lynn! Roxygirl

Not bad I liked it alot. I didn't have ice cream or cream next time that will make it perfect. It was good to eat for breakfast too.

Very good! I subsituted plums and peaches and pears for the apples, because they were ripe and needed to be used. I also subsituted applesauce for half of the butter to cut the fat content.

A super easy desert. We loved the crispy topping. I added a bit of cinnamon to it and think it would have been a touch bland without the spice. I also found a bit too much water around the apples for my liking. I think if I dredged the apples in flour before baking I'd get a thicker sauce. This could easily be a 5-star recipe for me, with just a few modifications.

My 5 year old and I made it and it was SO GOOD!!! I used 1/2 cup whole wheat flour and 1/2 cup of regular flour. Next time I'm going to try halving the sugar and the butter to try to make it healthier and see if the taste doesn't suffer too much.
