My boyfiend and I love this pie ( I would have included my son in this statement, but he didn't get any). I did made just a few changes, first, I added 1 tsp. of vanilla to the filling, 2nd, instead of cornstarch I replace it with 2 Tbs of flour, and finally, I added 1/4 cup of brown sugar to the 1/2 of white sugar in the filling. I also cut the apples as thinly as possible so that I didn't have to pre-cook them. My 15 year old son has just made this pie by himself (his first pie ever) and has it in the oven now. I know he will love it too.
Made this for Thanksgiving dinner. I love the topping and will use it again but I think the filling could use a little more sugar. My SiL ate 2 pieces and wants me to give the recipe to my daughter, also there were mixed ratings.
