This was fantastic. I made it for a birthday luncheon and it was a big hit. I had to print out many copies of the recipe. The only thing I did differently was to use dried cranberries rather than raisins.

I couldn't use nuts for the topping so instead I smashed some graham wafers coarsley - and MAN ALIVE was it ever good. Next time I may try oatmeal. mmmmmmmmm

Am not a big fan of recipes with so many steps in the preparation, but the results were well worth all the effort! Definitely makes you think of pie, & what a better combo than apples & raisins! Well certainly be making this one again! Thanks for posting it!

Finally cool enough to turn the oven on! Delicious apple pie squares. Directions were terrific. Think I will try making the apple filling according to this recipe for a regular apple pie. It is absolutely yummy. Since it makes a lot it would be great for a potluck or family gathering too. I froze some squares to enjoy later. Served each square with a dollop of whipped cream sprinkled with a dash of sifted cinnamon.
