"This is an old favorite at our house. I make this using fresh or frozen apples. I have made it at Christmas, drizzled with the glaze for my dainty tray. Delicious for snacks or as a dessert served with ice cream. Serve warm or cooled. Can also be frozen."

  1. I thought I made a mean apple pie but this tops mine by a mile. The addition of the clove and ginger knocks this pie out of the park! Thank you Dotty. I've already entered it into my favorites file. I used my frozen apples from last year's crop and the only change was adding some lemon juice to tart the apples a bit. Everyone, you have to try this recipe. You won't be disappointed!

  2. Made for a wonderful weekend dessert! Used apples from our backyard and everyone enjoyed the end result. Other then using a touch less of the spices I made as posted with excellent results. The added glaze drizzled over made for presentation. This one is definitely a repeatable. Thank you for another of your terrific recipes that my family loves!

I have just recently retired. I worked in the banking industry for 25 yrs. My husband and I own a cottage and have spent most of this last summer at the lake. We go there in the winter as well. I love to cook and I collect recipes. <img src="http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/Pohutukawa-2-1.jpg"> <img src="http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/pick0GuXD-1.jpg"> <img src="http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/picNW72Oj-1.jpg"> <img src="http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/picx2XGjA-1.jpg"> <img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3316/3345270671_dd30334798.jpg"> <img src="http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/picx2XGjA-1.jpg">
