  1. I lightly sprinkled cinnamon and ginger over the apples before adding the topping. Because it was taking too long to cool, I poured a little half and half over it and then topped it with whipped cream. Though the next time I'll add a little less brown sugar, this was delicious!

  2. I was craving this and so glad I found this recipe. Yum! I used both lemon and vanilla. I only used about 1 tsp sugar on top of the apples (I think recipe said 1 - 3 tsp, depending on how sweet apples are) and it was still very sweet - next time I will put less brown sugar in the topping...

  3. I'd invite you over for my leftovers, but there are none. I halved the recipe and ate the entire thing last nite it was so good. I added cinnamon to the sugar, and zapped the lemon zest (i like cinnamon). I also left out almost half of the topping because it seemed like it was too much. Now i have topping for another apple dish, but i wish i had used it here. It was wonderful.

  4. Very good. Nice comfort food and the topping was very tasty. However, next time I think that I'll add some cinnamon to it.
