Apple Hermits

"This came to my inbox today, and since it's almost apple season here in the Northeastern US I thought I'd share it! The descriptions says, "This is a moist and cake like, spicy, nutty, apple cookie." I can't wait to try it! The recipe is from Aunt Mikie at Allrecipes.com, although I added my own touches. If you make it with the soy milk and unsalted margarine it's lactose-free!"

  1. These cookies were quick & easy to make! I omitted the yucky walnuts & increased the raisins & apples to compensate. I used an air bake cookie sheet & they took 15 minutes. Thanx Kree!

  2. I was looking for a recipe similar to a cookie that is sold in a local bakery. This recipe is very close. I used pecans instead of walnuts, because I had the pecans on hand. they were so good eaten still warm from the oven.

I'm a real estate agent in the lovely city of Rochester, New York. That's not what I expected to do with my life. I got my bachelor's in psychology, my masters in literacy education, and I taught high school special education for two years. Then I discovered that helping people find the homes of their dreams was my real passion. I've been doing it for over two years now and still absolutely love my career. Other than that, I have a very spoiled Border Collie mix named Bear that I adopted from a local shelter in spring '08. He's gorgeous and fun and brings me great joy. Now if only I could find a man like that... LOL!
