      Marvelous! You're right, lots of different fruits will work in these dumplings...our favorite is chopped rhubarb! I think the syrup and the flour in the dough work some magic in the oven. It works with apples wrapped in the dough, too. Thanks for posting this delicious recipe!

      I have been looking for this recipe for some time everytime I searched for apple dumplings, recipes for apples wrapped in dough would come up. I didn't know what else to call them cuz that is what my aunt called them many years ago. We also sprinkled raisins and nuts over the dough along with the apples and yes it is the hot water mixture you pour over the rolls that makes this recipe incredible
