- 5 apples
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 cup rolled oats (not instant)
- 2⁄3 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1⁄2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1⁄4 teaspoon table salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 2⁄3 cup melted butter
directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Peel, core and slice the apples, and arrange in a baking dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice.
- In a mixing bowl, combine oats, sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt and allspice. Pour in melted butter and stir until it forms small pebbly clumps, about the size of a pea. Distribute evenly over apples. Bake in preheated oven 35 minutes. Serve warm with milk or vanilla ice cream.
