  • Mix filling ingredients, except butter, in a large bowl. Let set for approximately ten minutes. Pour into 8x13 pan and dot with butter.
  • Mix topping ingredients, except butter. Cut butter into rest of topping ingredients until crumbly.
  • Spread topping over filling. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 - 40 minutes.
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream or cream.

  1. This was amazing! I followed the directions exactly, except that I added 1/4 c sour cream to the filling. It turned out great and this was my first shot at ever making apple crisp! I used Gala apples since that is what I had on hand and I was worried that it might be too sweet, but it wasn't a problem. The apples got cooked through and the sauce thickened ever so slightly and the topping got nice and crunchy, but not too hard. My only regret is that I didn't have any vanilla ice cream to put on top, but it was great nonetheless. This is now my "go to" recipe for apple crisp. Thanks for posting!
