Just like grandma used to make.. as good as apple pie but better without the crust

Simple and simply beautiful. Perfectly sweet with a hint of tartness from the apples. The topping is perfectly crumbly and had lovely flavor from the cinnamon. I made mine in individual dishes and baked for about 45 minutes.

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Peel core and chop apples. Place in buttered 9 inch baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients. Pack closely over apples. Using a fork poke holes all over the crisp to break it apart (or it will be a crunchy layer like peanut brittle) Place on cookie sheet and bake for 1 hour or until bubbly.
