We've had this recipe in our family for a long time. I pull it out whenever our apples start going bad, because it's a great way to use up apples. I always use whatever apple varieties we have on hand, most often yellow or red delicious.
- 4 cups apples, peeled and sliced into small pieces
- 1⁄4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 3⁄4 cup flour
- 1⁄3 cup butter
- Place apples in a baking dish and sprinkle with water, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a bowl mix sugar, flour, and butter until crumbly. Spread crumb mixture over apples.
- Bake at 350 for about 40 minutes.
Excellent recipe, and very easy. I DESPISE apple crisp that has an oatmeal topping, so this one was perfect--very buttery and sweet, and the apples were tender and perfectly cooked.
This was very easy to make and very very good!! Glad I found it here...Thank you for sharing this recipe.
