Yes, very nice. I followed the suggestions of other reviewers and lowered the amount of sugar, used 3/4 cup. Furthermore I grated the apples. The cake was moist, tasty and easy to make. <br/>Thanks for posting.
This is delicious! I do agree with one reviewer and would lower the sugar amount however. I also think I would like to try some dried tart cherries in this as well as the cranberries. Mine took about 15 minutes longer to cook through than the stated time. I used a round 8 inch layer pan. After cooling a few minutes, I inverted the cake to a serving plate and dusted it lightly with some powdered sugar. My husband was in heaven while eating it.
This is an absolutely wonderful and moist coffeecake. I will make this again and again. Thanks so much for this keeper
Sooo very delicious!!! Thanks for the recipe. I added only 3/4 cup sugar, next time will use only 1/2 cup. I also added a pinch of nutmeg, and lime zest. Served it warm with whipped cream.
This coffee cake had very good flavor-the apples and cranberry make a great combination! I do think there was too much fruit - I used about 3/4 of the fruit called for and it was still much more fruit than cake.
This was yummy! We made it before the holidays and it was so good we decided to make it our annual Christmas Morning Coffee Cake. Thank you for sharing this great recipe.
People: TRY THIS RECIPE! Jean, I'm eating your coffee cake warm as I type. The apples & dried cranberries combine with the hint of cinnamon to make a lovely coffee cake that is fast enough to serve the family on a w/e morning, but tasty enough to serve to guests. Next time I make it, I may reduce the sugar a bit, as the apples made it quite sweet, but I guess that could vary depending on the sweetness of the fruit used. I didn't use nuts & saw no need to add the powdered sugar. The recipe is chock full of fruit & although I liked it that way, some folks might want to reduce the am't of apples & cranberries to increase the proportion of cake. I initially gave this recipe 4 stars, but when I went back for my 2nd piece (caught DH going back at the same time), I thought it really deserved 5.
