I made this for Thanksgiving using apples from a tree in my backyard (Alberta Red).<br/>I added 1/3 cup maple syrup to the apples and about a 1/4 cup of water. It was absolutely perfect!
I made this for the first time for my work for a BBQ lunch we did as a fundraiser. This was a huge hit. I added fresh cranberries (that I had frozen from Thanksgiving), I just sprinkled them in with the apples & mixed in before I put on the topping. This made for a very tasty addition. It's definitely a recipe I'll do again.
Great basic crisp recipe! We loved it. I used splenda sugar substitutes and healthier fat substitute. Splenda brown sugar blend and Splenda white sugar blend. And Smart Balance 'butter' for baking. Was not 'as good'.... but pretty close! My diabetic boyfriend said it was awesome!
I made a peach cobbler and this apple cobbler for a group of 12. Everyone raved, but I found it to be too crunchy. Very good, though. Thanks so much!
I've made many apple type desserts and this is by far the best and the easiest. My husband and kiddies cobbled this down in no time every single time. Thanks for sharing!
I've never made any sort of cobbler before so this recipe was completely new to me. I doubled the topping and used granny smith apples. Everything else was left the same. This was super easy and came out tasting unbelievable! I can't wait to make it again! My husband loved it also (which is rare!) :) Thanks for sharing!
Just came out of my oven a few minutes ago.....hmmmm! hmmmm! Smells so good....finally got a taste and it was yummy! I did double the topping mix and I'm glad I did. It was just the right amount I thought. Good Job Sashayy...thumbs up to grandmother!!
Great dish. I fixed it for a fish fry we had. Now everyone is wanting this recipe. I will make this often. Yumo!
So easy & so delicious!! I made it for company last night and everyone loved it. I used 6 golden delicious apples because that's what I had on hand and they worked perfect. Topped it with soft vanilla ice cream and it was amazing. Just had a spoonful cold out of the fridge and it taste like delicious apple pie. Thank you for posting this recipe! Will definitely make again.
Just made this and it was a big hit. I tweaked it and only used 2 teapspoons cinnamon. Definately a keeper.
