After reading many different crock pot potpourri recipes I came up with this one, and my house smells wonderful! :) If you don't have a small crock pot, just use a sauce pan and simmer on your stove. These are fun to throw together because you can use what ever you want to create the scent you want and you can't really mess up. I used the spices sold in the cellophane bag, they are very inexpensive and are usually in the Hispanic section of the grocery store.
- 1 apple, sliced
- 29.58 ml dried chamomile
- 2-4 cinnamon sticks
- 14.79 ml vanilla
- 14.79 ml almond extract
- 354.88-473.18 ml warm water
- mix all ingredients in small crock pot turn on low.
- enjoy! :).
Very nice scent that floats through my home. I did have to add a bit more cinnamon to the pot as the sticks were not emitting enough scent for my 'nose' but overall it is quick and easy to throw in a pot and let stew all day long. Just make sure to add water as the day goes along when using a stovetop so it does not dry out. Tagged in the Zaar Cookbook Forum Apr08
I needed to use up an apple before it turned mushy and this was great! I used 3 sticks of cinnamon and cooked it on the stove. I kept adding water and it turned out great!
What a fantastic recipe to make your house smell awesome! I just love Autumn, it's my favourite season and this has all the flavours/smells I always associate with Autumn. So wonderful!
