  1. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then stir in the egg and vanilla.
  2. Add the combined dry ingredients, blending well.
  3. Stir in the cheese, apples and nuts.
  4. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of the dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees F. for 15 minutes.
  5. Remove from the cookie sheet and cool on a wire rack or plate.

Made these today- they are SO good! Made exactly as written- used pecan cookie pieces (small chips) for the nuts. I have been wanting to try them for awhile, and glad I did! I love that they are not too sweet- perfectly savory/sweet. Will be making these again and again, for sure! Thanks truebrit!

mmmmmmmm! so good. so glad there were such good reviews on this recipe because i'm not sure i would have tried it otherwise... but oh so glad that i did! thanks for a terrifically different and delicious recipe :)

These are so incredible! They are so different that I hesitated making them, but I'm so glad I did. My toddler is eating them right now. I used hazelnuts for the nuts. Soft, sweet and delicious!
