I came up with this recipe out of desperation one day. It has since become a regular meal in our home. I usually end up doubling it for my family of 7.

Ingredients Nutrition

  1. Slice kielbasa into 1/2" or so slices.
  2. Saute kielbasa with onions in a dutch oven over medium heat.
  3. Continue until nicely browned.
  4. Add potatoes to the kielbasa and onions.
  5. Mix water, brown sugar, mustard and soy sauce.
  6. Add to the dutch oven.
  7. Cover and simmer until potatoes are done.
  8. May have to add more water depending on how much the spuds soak up.
  9. If potatoes break down they make the sauce nice and thick.
  10. May also add peppers or green beans.
  11. I sometimes skip the potatoes and serve the kielbasa with pierogies.
  12. If I'm in a hurry I nuke the spuds a few minutes to reduce cooking time in the pot.
  13. Hope you enjoy this!

This was delicious. I made it tonight just as the recipe said. I did find I had to cook it for a bit longer than specified. We really enjoyed it. Thanks for this one.

I added green pepper along with the onion but by the time the potatoes were done the onions and peppers were very soggy. Next time I will add them toward the end. It was really really good. I will be making this again soon.

This was good. I used a bit more potatoes. I really liked the broth, before I had just used chicken or beef broth and this was such an improvement. We will make it again. Yum. Thanks for posting.
