Angelic Lemon Cake Dessert

This is a very refreshing, nice summer dessert. Very simple to prepare. You can use any pie filling that you wish, but we like lemon the makes a nice contrast with the sweetness of the cream cheese mixture.

  1. In 13X9-inch pan, layer the cubes of cake, packing them tightly together.
  2. Cream together cream cheese and sugar.
  3. Fold in Cool Whip.
  4. Spread over the cake cubes in pan.
  5. Spread pie filling over top of cream cheese mixture.
  6. Sprinkle with nuts, if desired.
  7. Refrigerate until serving.

This is delicious and easy as is, but I usually prepare the cream cheese mixture and divide evenly between two graham cracker pie crusts and top with the lemon pie filling. I first made this so I can share one with my mother and keep one for my family. We all absolutely love it. I have made this numerous times and should have reviewed it sooner.

Manda, this works for me!! It was so easy to put together, and I had all of the ingredients except the walnuts, so I used pecans. I took it to a luncheon, and everyone loved it. I came home with an empty pan. You were right, I did love the lemon with the cream cheese. It was light and tasty, and not too sweet. Thanks for posting this, I will make this one again.
