This is a very delicious topping for angelfood cake! It almost tastes like a very creamy chocolate ice cream! Make sure to serve this immediately or to put the cake in the refridgerator after the frosting is put on the cake! I added just a tad more powdered sugar to stiffen up the icing, othewise I prepared exactly as Kimke describes. I will serve this cake with fresh strawberries. Thank you, Kimke!

I made this icing (with special dark cocoa) for a last minute birthday cake this morning for one of my hubby's co-workers who said he likes "chocolate on white cake". I used a boxed white cake mix to save time. I dug a depression in the bottom layer and filled it with a delicious dark chocolate custard I made, and spread a thin layer of this icing over it. I topped it with the second layer and spread the remaining icing over the whole cake. Rave reviews. Using the white cake balanced the richness of the chocolate perfectly, and the consistency of the icing was heavenly. Thank you so much for the wonderful recipe!

This tastes just like chocolate mousse! I wanted to sit down with the bowl and a spoon and eat it straight... Thanks for sharing!

I made this (with the toffee pieces) and took it to a friend's home. I got so many compliments on this cake - make sure you stuff the center with toffee laden icing. This made way more icing than what I really needed, but we ate it all anyhow. :)

This is really good icing! It is nice and light and really compliments the angel food cake. It makes alot! I was going to just make half the recipe, I am glad I didn't though. Half would have been too little and full amounts was just a tad too much! Thanks for posting this recipe, I am sure I will be making it again!
