I found this recipe at allrecipes at least 4 years ago, and it has become our main bread recipe--it is fantastic! I get asked to make it all the time. The amount of sugar can be adjusted if desired, but personally I think it is wonderful with a slightly sweet taste to it.

Lovely, light-textured bread with a nice crust. I'll definitely make this again. I cut this recipe in half to make a single loaf. After the yeast finished proofing, I put all the ingredients into my bread machine and ran it on the dough setting. When it came out I rolled it into a long loaf and let it double in size before baking. Worked great, I needed a few extra tablespoons of water so the bread machine wouldn't knock, but other than that didn't change a thing. Thanks for sharing this recipe, Liz.

We love this bread! I've made it several times now, and it turns out wonderful each time. I've recently started replacing part of the white flour with whole wheat, and so far it's still very yummy!
