  1. Combine sugar, molasses, water and salt in a heavy saucepan.
  2. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally, to 280 degrees F.
  3. Stir in butter and immediately remove from heat.
  4. Stir in peanuts.
  5. Pour onto greased marble slab or stoneware platter and let cool.
  6. Break into pieces.

Because of an allergy to corn I have been searching for a corn syrup free peanut brittle recipe. Can't wait to try this!

Sweet, crunchy creamy, delicious! Love the fact that I could easily click to change serving amount ingredients, and also nice to see a peanut brittle recipe that uses brown sugar instead of white--and also like using the regular shelled peanuts instead of raw peanuts, since that is what I have on hand. :) This is a great giftable recipe.
