This is the best macaroni salad around!! I grew up on this as a little girl with my grandma making this. It brings back old memories.
- 354.88 ml uncooked macaroni
- 3 hard-boiled eggs
- 118.29 ml chopped celery
- 59.14 ml chopped onion
- 177.44 ml salad dressing
- 29.58 ml yellow mustard
- 59.14 ml white vinegar
- 78.07 ml sugar
- Cook and drain macaroni. Cool. Add eggs, celery, and onion. Mix salad dressing, mustard, vinegar, and sugar thoroughly, then add to macaroni mixture. Then served chilled its even better if made the night before!
This is just the best macaroni salad! My husband doesn't like mayonnaise, mustard, or salad dressings, but he loves this salad. The blend of flavors are perfect. It's always a hit when I take it somewhere and someone always wants the recipe.
This is the closest I have come to my grandma's mac salad. I used mayo instead of salad dressing and no sugar. Thanks for getting me the closest I have come yet to her salad!
Made this for Easter and everyone enjoyed it. I followed the recipe as written other then I used regular mayo and not salad dressing. I also used splenda instead of sugar as that is all I buy. Made for Spring PAC 2009.
