I was torn whether to give it 4 or 5 stars. I nuked the pepperoni between paper towels first and I only used 6 ounces, that seemed like plenty. I also didn't use green pepper because my family doesn't like green pepper. That said, it was really dry. I think it wouldn't have been dry if I had made it just like the recipe but it would have been greasy. I would like to try it again this time I might add some mayo to loosen it up. It was yummy and very rich.
This was very good, but it was very greasy from all the pepperoni. I stirred some of the french-fried onions into the dip, but saved some to sprinkle on top of the dip before baking. I missed the part about covering with foil, so I baked it the whole time uncovered. Didn't seem to hurt it any.
Terrific recipe and SO EASY! This was a big hit at a recent family get-together. Next time I'm going to try it with turkey pepperoni to cut down on the fat.
The smell JUST mixing the ingredients was enticing, baking it was driving me crazy!! Very rich tasting.
