What a quick and easy way to make a delicious dessert. I used golden delicious apples and left the peel on. I used slighlty less sugar in the filling, and slightly more cinnamon. Delicious! Reviewed during ZWT 4.
This is just the best apple dessert! The crumb topping is outstanding. I only made a few changes. I added chopped pecans to the crumb topping and 1 tsp of vanilla to the filling. Great!!!
This smelled heavenly while baking!! It's a nice little surprise for my hubby when he gets home! ;) I scaled it down to 1-2 servings, and it fit perfectly in the dish! I still baked it for 50 minutes though, even though it was a smaller amount. He'll be so surprised! Thanks so much! :) Made for the ZWT4
How quick and delicious this is! I used a mixture of apples and taking a cue from DuChick used apple pie spice also. So easy my GD wants to make it by herslef next time.
This was very good! I love baking with apples, but for some reason, I haven't had much luck with it in the past, but this was by far my best attempt yet. Everyone loved it.
*WOW*!!! This is fantastic! I took this to a dinner party and it won a ton of compliments. I used 2 Golden Delicious and 2 Granny Smith apples, one teaspoon Apple Pie Spice rather than plain cinnamon and also used 1/4 cup brown sugar with 1/4 cup white sugar in the apple mixture. Topped with whipped topping or ice cream, this is pure heaven! Thanks so much, Gerry!
My 9 yr old daughter made this today with little help from me. Dad gave it two thumbs up, and he just loves apple pie. Update Jan 08 - made this again today but this time I did not use a non-stick pan and I had trouble getting the slices out. I would recommend greasing the dish if you are using a glass pie plate.
Excellent alternative to apple pie. I kept cutting little pieces for myself because it was so good I did not want to stop after one piece.
Another winner from Gerry 999. Just like apple pie but without all the work. The house smelled so good that I could hardly wait for it to bake. Called the next door neighbors over for coffee, tea and this lovely treat. You never disappoint with your great recipes, Gerry.
I love this recipe -- it is so simple and tasty. The first time I doubled the recipe because I had alot of apples and pears to use up, then I froze pieces in take-out foil pans -- so easy to grab for the lunchbox. This time I made it with leftover berry filling that I had in the freezer -- cut them into bars and it was a perfect snack with evening tea. Thank you Gerry!
