Hi .. I just went to check my 'review' of this recipe.. and lo and behold I must have screwed up.. only my name is there! Sorry melismak. This recipe is absolutely scrumptious! However, I had some problems with the pan size and getting the bottom 'layer' to cover the pan. Initially, I used the pan stated in the recipe, but it was lots too big for the dough. So I then tried a 10x15 pan, which was also larger than the dough required, so left some of the pan 'uncovered' so to speak. Then I had an awful time getting the dough to stick to the greased surface, it was hilarious :) I must have done something wrong, and would like to have any tips .. to help me next time I make this recipe, which I most definitely will do. Thanks :)
That's ME!! Thank you for posting my recipe! I'm glad you all enjoy it so much.

This was a great recipe, and very "forgiving" I've been negligent in providing my husband with his favorite almond spritz cookies, and fell back on this as a near substitute. According to his tastebuds it worked! I used almond flavoring in place of vanilla. As for forgiving, I was in a hurry and got the butter way beyond room temp in the microwave - it was just about liquid. It fit very nicely in a 10x15 pan with no struggles - don't know what might have happened to Rickie. I think I'd also like to try this recipe with pecans - maybe on a cookie crust with orange zest?
These are really good--goes nicely with a cuppa tea! Baked in my stoneware bar pan for about 25 mins. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
Upon baking these almond squares and trying to get them out of the pan, they totally crumbled on me. I was going to give them as gifts for the holidays and was sorely disappointed. I have nothing to give my co-workers now and am frustrated that such a reputable site would post such a bad recipe.
