  1. I read the reviews and used unsweetened coconut. It was perfect. Made it for a baby shower.

  2. DIVINE!! I found this recipe on a cake pan & had to buy the pan just for the recipe. It is very sweet & rich, but 3 layers of complete heaven! My recipe calls for toasted almonds & I highly recommend it, it really heightens their flavor. I was so excited about this recipe, I was going to post it on Recipezaar, but checked to make sure it wasn't already there, and there it was. Absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! I wish I could give it more stars to cover up the lower scores of the people who said it's too sweet! No way!!!

  3. WAY WAY WAY too sweet for us. But a good idea and I will make it again with some tweaks in the recipe... Thanks for posting!

  4. I love Almond Joys, so I was pretty excited to make this cake. I made it exactly as stated in the directions, and it looked great. The major detraction: it was overwhelmingly sweet. I used sweetened coconut and the sugar in it combined with the sugar in the coconut layer were too much for at least four people who tried it.

  5. For my summer vacation I spent 2 nights with each of my 3 married children and did the cooking. Followed the recipe exactly. This was very good, but as stated, amazing the next day! Next time I will definitely make it the day before!
