  • Make Burgers:

  • In nonstick skiller, over medium heat, melt butter.
  • Add vegetables, saute 8 minutes, or until very tender.
  • Add cumin, pepper, and salt; mix well.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  • Remove 1/4 cup of vegetables and set aside in medium bowl.
  • Combine remainder vegetables with turkey and sausage; mix well with hands.
  • Form into 1/2 inch thick patties.
  • Broil burgers 4 to 6 inches from heat, for 12 minutes, turning once.
  • Make Sauce:

  • Into bowl with reserved vegetables, stir in all the sauce ingredients.
  • Serve burgers in pitas (or on buns) with lettuce, tomatoes, and sauce.

<p>I'm the mother of 2 (boy and a girl), currently 3 grandchildren (all girls), 1 Chihuahua (Bebe` Chico), and at last count 8-yard cats. I own more gardening and craft books than cook books, that's what drew me to recipezaar. My passions are cooking, gardening, scrapbooking, sewing and spending time with my family.</p> <p>My biggest problem right now is finding time to spend on this wonderful site.
