I think this is a great money-saver as you say, Crabbycakes. I tested it out with a small addition of dried mushroom flakes - delicious!
I converted this recipe to regular milk with no problem. Here are the conversions I used in order to make one substitution for cream of chicken soup: 1 1/4 cup of milk, 1 T. bouillon granules, 2 T. cornstarch, 1/2 t. onion, pinch of pepper. Delicious!
This sauce is so easy, and really tastes fantastic! I put it over a mix of pasta topped with cauliflower, broccoli, green beans, and carrots. My kids ate it all and had seconds! These are kids who won't eat any vegetables! Thanks so much!
