This is just an excellent every day meal! Quick, delish, filling and made from ingredients that you generally have around. I added 3 cloves of garlic and used a home made pasta sauce that I had in the freezer. I increased the pasta to 3 cups instead of 1 1/2 cup. Thanks for sharing, I will be making this again!

Loved this treat of a recipe! It's similar to my usual bolognese recipe- I always use chopped tomatoes rather than spaghetti sauce to cut out a few calories. But the great thing about this recipe is that adding the pasta to the sauce before cooking means that the extra "juice" you get from using chopped tomatoes is absorbed to leave a rich, thick sauce. I covered the pan while it cooked and added 1/2 cup water partway through cooking (in addition to the wine) as it was looking dry. Thanks for a super recipe!

Me and DH love bolognese sauce. I used 1 large onion, lean ground beef, diced tomatoes in can, 8 ounces of fresh mushrooms sliced and red wine of course LOL I didn't add seasoning. It was perfect like that. We ate it with penne pasta. Thanks Kate :) Made for Holiday tag

Although this recipe is fast & easy as written it was extra easy for me as I already had a minced meat & pasta sauce with penne pasta added already cooked from a previous night so all I did was to lightly fry some mushrooms and add along with some red wine and reheat. Served over a jacket baked potato for DH and topped with grated parmesan cheese. This will be a regular in our house. :) Made for Aus/NZ swap June 2009.

Easy and VERY tasty! I used spaghetti Kate, as we wanted the sauce to sit on top of the pasta, so I did not add the pasta to the sauce as suggested, another time!! I also added a chopped carrot, porchini mushrooms and some garlic to the bolognaise sauce. I used the rest of Chef Pot Pie's delicious Another Marinara Sauce instead of the suggested tinned tomatoes or pasta sauce - and the whole mixture was WONDERFUL! A quick and VERY tasty supper, I served this with grated fresh parmesan and used Chianti wine as my cooking wine..............as well as DRINKING wine!! Made for ZWT4 and my LOVELY team mate Katie-Kins! Merci! FT:-)
