This was VERY good. I did double the recipe, and I substituted diced ham for the sausage, but it was so good that I had to make a second batch a few days later.
Thanks for sharing the recipe! It's the first thing I tried in my new 2.5 qt. slow cooker (my first Crock Pot). I added more diced onion, carrot and celery and slightly more liquid (after the first 2 or 3 hours), and some diced, cooked, ham towards the end. The soup was delicious, and there's enough left for lunch.
I had never had pea soup before, so I had no idea what to expect. But my vegetarian version was wonderful...very mellow and pleasant. Definitely a keeper.
Very Delicious soup! I made this one for Fall PAC 2007 I lived the addition on the andouille sausages. I've never had soup with that before and they were delicious! Thanks for a great keeper.
I made a veggie version and it was a lovely dinner with rye toast. I used a pot of the stove top instead of the crock pot and left it on the lowest setting. Everything except the diced carrot and bay leaf dissolved into the soup. I needed to add a bit more salt at serving, aside from that the seasoning was perfect (I used Herbs de Provence). Pea soup is one of DH's favorite foods and he loved this. Thanks gourmetmomma for reminding me of a great soup that I hadn't made in a long time.
