This is the Alfredo sauce that my family likes best. I have only tried it with Kraft grated parmesan cheese, not anything imported or fancy, and I still like the way it tastes. It is creamy, but not terribly thick, and really cheesy.


  1. In a large sauce pan, heat cream, butter, salt and pepper.
  2. While stirring almost constantly cook over medium-low for approximately 10 minutes so that butter and cream mixture is hot, but not boiling. Do not over cook.
  3. Add Parmesan cheese and stir constantly until cheese melts completely and sauce begins to thicken, approximately 10 minutes.

I've never had a go-to alfredo recipe, but I do now! This is it. Excellent flavor, thickened nicely, smooth and creamy. Excellent over homemade fettucine. I stuck to recipe, but added a sprinkle of fresh-grated nutmeg at the end. Thank you for sharing this super-easy, delicious recipe. Bem gostoso!

It's perfect. What else can I say? Alfredo is probably the simplest, easiest pasta sauce out there & it's also one of the best. This recipe is spot-on.
