    1. 1
      Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

With a meat cleaver, hack the chocolate bars and nuts to pieces.
    3. 3
In a large bowl, beat the butter and the sugars until creamy.
    4. 4
Beat in the eggs and the vanilla.
    5. 5
Add the flour and baking soda, beat until smooth.
    6. 6
Toss in the chocolate chunks and nuts.
    7. 7
Refrigerate the cookie dough for a couple of hours before baking.
    8. 8
Violently throw the batter by tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet--aim so that the cookies land 2 inches apart.
    9. 9
Bake until golden, about 10-12 minutes.
    10. 10
Using a spatula, pry the cookies loose from the baking sheet, and allow them to vent on wire racks.

NOTE: You may substitute chocolate and white chocolate chips for the bars, but then there's no fun in that!

Mirj, this recipe really does have a bit of a story behind it! I think it must be the name!! I made the cookie dough up to the stage where I hadn't added the nuts or chocolate, covered it and put it into the fridge and went to my daughters Easter parade at school. When I got home my husband had knocked two big holes in our kitchen walls ready to put new windows in, this was totally unexpected for that particular day!!! The dough ended up sitting in the fridge for a day and a half. Anyway these are fabulous cookies. Not overly sweet and the macadamia's add a great contrast to the chocolate. I halved the recipe and still got 75 kid size cookies. I always make my cookies smaller as my girls love two at a time (one for each hand ;)). We had fun bashing the macadamia's. Thanks for sharing.
