  • Steam first 3 ingredients, covered, 2 minutes. Rinse broccoli mixture under cold water;
  • drain well.
  • Combine oil, salt and next 5 ingredients (salt through crushed red pepper) in a small skillet; cook over medium heat 2 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring constantly.
  • Combine spice mixture, sour cream, vinegar, and honey in a bowl; whisk well. Add to broccoli mixture; toss well to coat. Stir in green onions just before serving, and sprinkle with nuts.

  1. This made a pretty tasty side dish. I used a bag of frozen veggies (cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots) and Greek yogurt instead of sour cream, and it turned out great. I left out the pine nuts though, but wish I had included them now. Thanks for sharing.
     
  2. This is the second time I've made this and I love it! The first time I used sour cream and pine nuts and the second time I use plain yogurt and crushed peanuts. The yogurt worked fine but I liked it better with pine nuts. Also, it's important to let the veggies cool a bit before adding the sour cream - I didn't do that and the heat made the sour cream too runny. Great recipe!

  4. I left off the pine nuts, since I didn't have any. This was a good accompaniment to "Spicy African Peanut Soup" and "North African Peanut Butter Candy".
     
  5. Great recipe. I liked it as is. The next time I made a few alterations and I liked it even better. I omitted the coriander and used fresh celantro (1/2 cup chopped) instead. I also added one tbs of lime juice. Yum yum.

  3. I absolutely loved the sauce. I made as written! Hubby wanted the vegies raw and I didn't know it so it wasn't good for him but I will make again for me.I used slivered almonds instead of peanuts. The honey with the spices and sour cream was really super. This would go well with any fish dish.
     
  4. This is a delicious salad that is very easy to put together. The flavors compliment the vegetables nicely. I used yogurt in place of the sour cream and garnished with the pine nuts.
     
  5. What an unusual combination of flavors. Very good. Used vegan sour cream and golden syrup in place of honey to make the dish vegan. Peanuts instead of pine nuts are definitely the way to go!
