- In a large saucepan, cook apples with water for about 15 minutes or until just tender, stirring occasionally, then stir in the wine.
- Remove from heat & mash until lumpy but not yet smooth.
- Add sugar, to taste, then chill before serving.
I cut the recipe in half, and used Granny Smith apples. They are very tart, so I increased the sugar a bit....it was still quite tart, so if you use a tart apple, make sure you make adjustments! I served mine with grilled pork chops and sweet potatoes. Thanks for sharing!
I needed to use up some apples and this was perfect. I cut it down to half the recipe and I also didn't chill it. It was delicious. Made for 1-2-3 Hits Tag Game 2010.
Very nice! I used half sweet and half tart apples to make this and followed the recipe exactly as written except for not chilling before eating it for dessert (allowed to cool to room temperature only). Made for PRMR Tag.
