All I have to say is this recipe is fabulous and easy! The only addition I made was to sprinkle top with a touch of cinnamon & brown sugar.... DELICIOUS! This one had DH proclaiming at the table... "I love Gourds!" LOL! Thanks for a seasonal & delicious side dish, Derf!

I have a similar recipe except that it has a sprinkle of brown sugar and it states to garnish with currant jelly!

Wonderful recipe! I had two tiny acorns; they were so cute filled with applesauce! My homemade applesauce was a little tart, so I added some brown sugar, but not much. Easy and different recipe I will use often! Thanks!

I liked this but it didn't rock my world...but hey, it's hard to have earth shattering squash. I used homemade apple sauce and baked as instructed. There seemed to be a lot of apple sauce in that there was more sauce than squash, but maybe that was just my particular squash. Would do again, maybe with the addition of some nuts or something for texture.

I also love chef Michael Smith and have used this recipe a lot lately ! I actually take the time to make the applesauce and then fill the sqush with it. It makes the world of difference using homemade applesauce. But this recipe is a keeper if you love squash !
