  • Cut Acorn Squash in half. Remove and discards seeds , rinse well in cool water.
  • Place Squash in a micorwave bowl. Put 1 Tablespoon butter and one tablespoon sugar in each half. Place in microwave on high for 10 minutes.
  • To check for doneness pierce squash (do not break through skin) with fork. Slips in easily is ready to eat -- be careful is extremely hot and delicious -- .

  2. It's the best! I think it goes best with BrownSugar though, so that's what I used. Thanks for posting this recipe! My friend made this at her house a few weeks ago but I couldn't remember how long she microwaved it for.

  4. Excellent and fast! My mom made this when I was growing up but she cooked the acorn squash in the oven so it took longer.

Tweaks

  1. Make into a main course, and service with steamed broccoli, green beans, sauteed kale/greens, or a salad.
     
  2. Don't waste the seeds! Clean and toss with oil and salt then roast them
