Absolutely Fabulous Granola Bars

My family loves granola bars. The quaker brand used to be there favorite, but since I have been making these granola bars I have been forbidden to bring the "store bought" kind into the house. The nice thing about this recipe is that you can add as many "mix-in's as you would like. Chocolate, dried fruit, nuts ... the list is endless.

Ingredients Nutrition

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 F.
  2. Line 9x13 pan with tin foil. Grease the foil, then set pan aside.
  3. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until well combined.
  4. Press evenly into prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown across the top of the bars.
  6. Immediately remove from pan and invert on to a cooling rack so that the foil can be removed from the bars.
  7. Allow to cool, then cut into bars.
  8. I wrap them indiviually, so they can be quickly snatched for a snack of breakfast on the run.

Sorry, this just didn't work out very well for us. Maybe I'll try t again to find a variation that suits us.

Thumbs up from the Robson Clan! I made this last week instead of buying the store bought ones. The family loved it and have requested it for their lunch boxes this week. I used golden syrup instead of corn because of food allergies & also added dried cranberries because they were on hand. Thankyou for sharing :)

Def AB-FAB !! :) So versatile...you really can not go wrong with this and the recipe is delightfully open and receptive to "mix-ins", "add-ons" and subs...I used some homemade nut butter and apple sauce instead of the oil ...I had no egg so I used a combo of flax seed and mashed banana for extra "binding"...I used some steel oats in addition to the 4 cups of whole and added wheat flour instead of the white...I had a fabulous chocolate bar on hand so used that in place of chips and threw in some peanut-butter chips as well (they have been in the freezer since leftover from Christmas cookies so it was their time {{lol}} )...really good...devilishly decadent and YUM!! Thanks Hines' Honey :)
