  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 226.79 g ground beef
  • 151.04 g bacon, cut into squares
  • 151.04 g mini cocktail franks (Hillshire farms is recommended) or 151.04 g beef hot dog, cut into 1 inch pieces (Nathans is recommended)
  • 226.79 g low-fat whipping cream
  • 226.79 g can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1419.54 ml cooked rice or 1419.54 ml hot pasta, for serving

  • Fry bacon in pan until crispy. Remove from pan and set aside, leaving bacon fat in the pan. Add onion to pan and sauté until slightly transparent.
  • Add ground beef and cocktail sausages. Brown meat and sausage for 3 minutes, breaking meat up into smaller pieces.
  • Stir in cream and tomatoes. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Break up the bacon into bite size pieces or smaller. Add to mixture. Serve over cooked rice or hot pasta.

  1. I used the mini-sausages from Aidell's so that they weren't as mushy as a cocktail weiner, but this recipe was great, but even better the next day. When I heated up the left-overs at work, I had everyone stopping at my office to ask what I was eating. It was so much fun to tell them I was eating Monkey Brains.
