Abear's Diet Jello

"This recipe came about because I was looking for a low-sugar low-fat snack. I was inspired by a recipe from Kraft Kitchens. I kept changing it and experimenting with it, and now it's almost stupid in how simple it is! I also have to add that this doesn't really keep well over 24 hours. The juice from the berries tend to drain to the bottom of the dish."

  1. How super easy! And quick! Wanted something to finish off a heavy dinner. Guess what? There IS always room for jello! Especially when it is lower calorie, but doesn't taste like it! Thnx for sharing your recipe, Mom! Made for Diabetic Forum Pool Party May 2010.

  2. What a treat! Simple and easy, we all loved this, especially because it was sugar free and we couldn't even tell. Thanks for posting! Made for PAC 10 :)

  3. This made a great and easy dessert. Whether using sugar free tor regular jello, It really does make frozen fruit seem fresh! Thanks for sharing!

  4. What fun! Made it three times already, strawberry jello with whole s/bs, orange jello with peach slices, lime jello with mixed fruit - honeydew, grapes, blueberries, s/bs, and peaches. What a nice refreshing treat to have on hand for those afternoon "hungries". Many thanks.

  5. This is by far the *BEST* jello & fruit recipe I've ever had. I don't usually care for frozen strawberries (I used frozen sliced), simply because once they have thawed, they're like mush. Well, serving them this way, they are firm and very close to the texture of fresh berries. I also love the extra flavour from not diluting the jello with extra water. This is quite a winner, and will be made many times. Thanks Flygirl. :)

I am learning to cook through Recipezaar! I am not a natural in the kitchen so I really appreciate all the recipes and reviews that people post here! I also won't post any reviews that have less then three stars. I figure if someone liked the recipe enough to post it then it might be just my tastes. My favourite cookbooks are "The Vegetarian 5 Ingredient Gourmet", and "Company's Coming Diabetic Cooking". They both have lots of great recipes even though I am not a vegetarian or diabetic. <img src="http://i490.photobucket.com/albums/rr266/Acadia/Banners/HolidayCardSwapBannerP-1.jpg"> <img src="http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b2/kiwidutch/my3chefs2009final-1.jpg"> <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/IWasAdoptedfall08.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"> <a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v51/tiggrr34/?action=view&current=HolidayOrnamentSwapTag2c-1-1-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v51/tiggrr34/HolidayOrnamentSwapTag2c-1-1-1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket">
