Shrimp and Angel Hair Pasta

"This is a wonderful little recipe that I found on sparkpeople. It was submitted by KERYRL. Quick, diet friendly and so so good! I have used the frozen, uncooked shrimp for this and it worked great but fresh are def. better! Serve with a nice salad and you have a sensational dinner."

  1. I had a recipe planned for my shrimp but then DS ate my bell peppers as a snack! I found this very simple, on-hand ingredient recipe & made it instead. We were sort of on the fence with this one though. It's good, but without the crushed red pepper there just wouldn't be much flavor. We usually eat pretty spicy (sometimes even my toddler can), so I used about 3/4 TBL and it was almost too much. DD just ate the noodles with butter but the rest of us ate it all. Definitely a winner for quick, easy, weeknight dinner but it felt like a little something was missing. However, the kitchen smelled delicious while it cooked! :) Thanks for sharing, Gayla!

  2. This was good and very easy. My Super Wal-Mart had frozen shrimp on sale, so I subbed for uncooked (plus all the icky deveining and peeling was done for me!). My package was 14oz., but I followed the rest of the recipe as stated, using 1 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes, and cooking a total of 5-7 mins on medium heat. It's odd bf said this was really spicy and I just thought it had a nice bite to it. Then he said it was bland and didn't have enough sauce (which I'd left half of in the pan, he just had to ask for it hehe). Of course bf doesn't like runny sauces so I would have had to thicken it up. Basically we both agreed it was a good recipe and that without the red pepper flakes it would be more bland; and yet I think that the white wine, garlic, olive oil, red pepper flakes, and green onion went well together with the shrimp, but both of us prefer shrimp scampi-type recipes. Thanks for sharing! :) Made for Please Review My Recipe tag game.

  3. I'm glad I used only 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Cause it was really hot for us, mostly for DS 3 years old. But for me and DH it's ok. But if I do it again for us and DS, I will omit the red pepper flakes. The taste of the shrimps with the wine and the angel air pasta is great. Very easy to do. Thanks Gayla. 4. This is really good! We enjoyed the mixture of flavors. I really didn't think it would be so good. I made as posted except cut it in half. This is so easy and tasty that it will be on my make again list. Thanks for posting. :)

  5. This made a very nice dinner, and great in its simplicity. I love spicy dishes, so I used a tablespoon of crushed red pepper flakes -- I wouldn't recommend it! It definitely overpowered this dish. I would stick to the 1/2 T that Laffer recommends. Very nice! Thanks, Laffer! Made for Please Review My Recipe tag.
