Garlic Feta Cheese Dip

"A friend made this at a get-together and it quickly disappeared and was on high demand, so she gave me this recipe. Great if you like garlic! (NOTE: This IS a garlic recipe and has a strong garlic taste!)"

  1. Anything with feta cheese in it gets an A+ in my book, but this dip is out of this world! It's so simple to make, and the garlic flavor was perfect! I added about 1 tablespoon of sour cream that was left in the fridge, and it was creamy and delicious. Try it with Ritz crackers!

  2. Easy to make and delicious! I used low fat cream cheese and l.f. mayo, and you couldn't tell the difference. I will make again! Thanks, Wendy!

  3. If you try this once, you will see why everyone likes it so well -- it's so adaptable! After reading the reviews, I opted for 1 galric clove of medium size, and used a garlic press, from this was plenty -- allowing the herbs to not be overwhelmed. As suggested by another reviewer, replaced the mayo with sour cream, and used whilpped cream cheese. Have added this to my short list of favorite quick spreads -- takes no time to prepare, the ingredients are easy to come by, and can be made ahead are all big advantages. It was enjoyed by 6 of us, using pita crisps, and that was plenty! Thanks Wendy, for making this available to us!

  4. I made three other dips with this one last night and this one went the fastest! Everyone loved it and raved about it all night. I will certainly make this again! Thanks!

  5. I made this yesterday and doubled it because I had 2 separate parties to attend. This stuff is amazing. Everyone was raving about how good this is. Thanks for an easy keeper.

Tweaks

  1. So simple and delicious. I halved the recipe, which is plenty for just me. Next time though, I'd use more feta and garlic but less mayo, maybe even sour cream instead. Oh and I wouldn't make it for just me next time-its so addictive

  2. This was very good but I made a few adjustments with what I had on hand. I used cottage cheese instead of cream cheese and 1/2 tsp of Bouquet Garni herb blend in place of the separate herbs. I also added minced fresh green onion (2) and 8 small sprigs of fresh parsley and cilantro. Super good!

  3. I love this dip! I first had it at a friend's house, and then had to make it myself a few days later. I am going to be making this often. I subbed sour cream for the mayo and add a half cup of chopped sundried tomatoes. I used one smallish clove of garlic and found it perfect. Take my advice and double the recipe!

Hello! I am a thirty-nine year old mom with two children. I am originally from Xenia, Ohio where I have lived longer than anywhere, but have lived in many different places. Ohio is one of my favorite states...I love the different seasons here! I love to remodel and decorate homes, when I have the time, and of course, I'm very passionate about cooking!! There is a long line of great cooks in my family and I am trying to put together a cookbook for them, from recipes they've shared with me. I have no favorite cookbook...I love picking up new (even better...very old) ones from yard sales, Ebay, Amazon, or wherever I find a good book with a good deal! Love the Food Network and my favs to watch, when I have the time, are Giada De Lorentis & Tyler Florence.
