  1. OMG... was this a disaster!! Nothing to do with the recipe itself... just my ingredients. I thought I had everything required to make the crisp but after I started I was mistaken. Used coconut flour (gluten-free), gluten-free instant oats, some kind of organic brown sugar (didn't have enough so mixed white granulated into it). The cinnamon and apples were the only things true to the recipe! Baked for an hour and twenty minutes because I didn't get the caramelization and tasty burnt edges!! Good flavor with ice cream! Next time I'll check what I have more thoroughly!

  2. This was a lovely apple crisp Karen. It was perfect, just the way my dh loves them. Basic and simple allowing all the ingredients to shine. I used Red Prince apples in this lovely treat. Made for Went to Market 2017.

  3. This small size crisp was just right for the 2 of us to enjoy without drawing out the still-fresh leftovers through more than a day! The apples I used were large, but the only compensation I made for that was to use s bit more of the cinnamon! very nice! Thanks for posting the recipe! [Made & reviewed in went to the Market recipe tag]

  4. This was very easy to make. I used dark brown sugar, old fashioned oats, white whole wheat flour, and Granny Smith apples. I thought the flavor was very nice, and I really liked that it wasn't too sweet. The only problem that I had was that I could never get the topping to crisp up as much as I personally like in a crisp. Thanks Karen, for a tasty dessert that we enjoyed.
