  • In a skillet, beat butter and saute onion.
  • Blend in flour.
  • Gradually add broth, stirring to keep smooth.
  • Add tomato sauce, garlic salt and chili.
  • Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
  • Spoon over your favorite burrito.

  1. This is a good base. I added 1tbsp of chili powder and 1 tsp of paprika. I also used garlic powder instead of salt to cut back on the sodium. I recommend this recipe. Just try it and you can fine tune it to your own tastes.

  3. It doesn't taste bad, but doesn't taste like Mexican sauce, a little too sweet.
     
  4. wow this sauce was just right thanks i have only ever used the packet ones before but never again will always use this one. even my children loved it
     
  5. I made some slight changes. Instead of the green chilies, I used 1 heaping TBLSP of Chiles Chipotles. Instead of the garlic salt, I used 1 large clove of fresh garlic, chopped very finely. Then added 1/3 tsp salt. Now it has a bit of heat as well as flavor.
