This makes a delicious dessert that looks great! I saw it in Woman's Day magazine and they called for using Whoppers candy, but I used Oreos in mine. Cook time is for the 6 hour freeze time (but it may not take the full 6 hours for the cake to freeze firmly).
- 12 ice cream sandwiches, unwrapped
- 1 (6 1/2 ounce) can chocolate whipped cream
- 1 cup chopped Oreo cookies (or chopped Malted Milk Balls)
- Arrange 4 ice cream sandwiches long sides touching on a serving plate.
- Squirt an even layer of whipped cream over top.
- Scatter with 1/3 cup chopped Oreos or Malted Milk Balls.
- Repeat layers 2 times, garnishing top with a few larger chunks of Oreos or Malted Milk Balls.
- Freeze 6 hours or until firm.
- Slice to serve.
- May be frozen for up to a week.
Way, way to easy! I added caramel crunch pieces and caramel sauce in between layers and on top. My nephews raved about this dessert and begged me to pass this one on!!! I think this took me a grand total of 10 minutes to make. I am quite sure that this recipe could be cut in half to serve six. My only comment: take the dessert out 1 hour before serving so that it can soften up a bit. I had told the nephews and they were a little impatient to try some and I found that it was still too hard to cut. Another thing....don't tell the nephews it is out warming up!!! Thanks for a great idea!!!
So easy and soooo good!!! I used regular whipped cream, caramel syrup, crushed oreos and chopped peanuts. Sweet and Salty :)
This was my son's birthday cake and everyone loved it. I loved it too because it was simple and a cool treat on a hot day. Thank you!
